Don't be easily fooled by advertisements that read "Vicks Vapor Rub for toe nail fungus". Such lines are circulating in the virtual environment; unfortunately, there's a lot more to the ad line that you should know about. If you attempt to call the Vicks Company, they will tell you that Vicks Vapor is not approved by the FDA to be used in the treatment of nail fungus.
The truth is Vicks contains Camphor, Menthol, Thymol, Petrolatum, and Eucalyptus oil, and these ingredients are not known to fight fungus at all. They are also believed to weaken the nails; worse, some people have reported that their nail beds are permanently damaged!
Vicks Vapor Rub for toe nail fungus is definitely not recommended. If you are suffering from nail fungus, there are safer alternatives to Vicks Vapor Rub. Natural treatments like vinegar, alcohol, colloidal silver, bleach, and maybe Listerine, too, work in very rare cases, but some of these ingredients cause adverse reactions.
